MICHIGAN BEATS NATIONAL AVERAGE FOR ADULTS SEEKING ROUTINE DENTAL CARE

According to new numbers released by Gallup, 69.4 percent of Michigan adults report having visited a dentist at least once in the past 12 months for routine dental care. The national average in this poll was 64.7 percent.

At 74.9 percent, Connecticut had the largest number of adults report seeing a dentist. On the other end of the spectrum, only 53 percent of adults in Mississippi reported seeing a dentist for cleanings and examinations in the past year.

Dental Care Matters

Dr. Sven Erickson and the staff at Modern Dentistry Associates encourage adults throughout Michigan to maintain regularly scheduled dental visits. These visits allow for optimal cleaning of teeth and gums, and give your dentist an opportunity to address minor issues before they become serious problems.

Swift intervention is essential for preserving your natural teeth. Nowhere can this be seen more clearly than in another Gallup poll, showing the number of seniors in each state who no longer have any of their natural teeth. It should come as no surprise that in Connecticut, over 90 percent of seniors still have natural teeth. In Mississippi the number is closer to 70 percent.

If you live in or around the Southwest Michigan communities or Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, Niles, or South Bend and are overdue for a dental cleaning and examination, please contact Modern Dentistry Associates to schedule an appointment with Dr. Erickson today.
